Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland is a model and actress. Her debut came in a Bond film, A View to a Kill in the year 1985. In 1989, she played an archaeologist with Nazi sympathies Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Siobhan Donavan played the role part of A Prayer for the Dying in 1987, Charlotte was in Taffin (in the year 1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery played Major League II. Doody began modeling after she was approached. It turned out to be a lucrative career. Doody was adamantly against glamour and sexually explicit work. This was a policy she extended to her acting career. Doody played a non-speaking part in the 1987 television adaptation of The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in a dream. The Storyteller episode from 1988 included her in the leading character in the film Sapsorrow and was portrayed by John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. In 1988, she appeared as Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. The most memorable performance to date was her role as Austrian Nazi sympathizer and archaeologist Doctor Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in the 1989 film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody has collaborated with three James Bond actors. Doody was in the British series Selling Hitler with Jonathan Pryce. The show was inspired by the Hitler Diaries publication scam. When she moved to Hollywood Doody made her a star. The role she played was Flannery as Flannery in Major League II, opposite Charlie Sheen. After almost a decade away from the stage Doody returned to acting by playing a minor role in the 2003's British comedy film The Actors with Michael Caine playing herself in an event scene for the award ceremony. In 2004, she starred in a film with Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She was also as a character in Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 publication about the Holocaust. Doody played a small role in Danny Dyer's movie The Rapture (2010). Later, she guest-starred in RTE's Medical thriller The Clinic. She was scheduled to also be the star of a remake in 2011 of the horror classic The Asphyx. However, the project was ultimately canceled. Pam Jefferson is her role in the E4 Comedy Drama Beaver Falls' first of two seasons. In 2014, she was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way.
